Mime group DETO

The trio of young mime artists from Slovakia devotes their time to mime, non-verbal theatre and improvisations for more than 10 years. Led by prominent Slovak mime artist Miroslav Kasprzyk, as the members of the Mime studio Kasprzyk, they introduced themselves to the audience throughout the whole Slovakia and surrounding countries like Czech Republic, Austria or Poland. With their night show they enriched the summer season of tourists on the island of Cyprus. They have acquired prestigious awards on many theatrical contests and festivals and every year they take part in organizing PAN, the festival of mime and motional theatre in their home-town Liptovský Mikuláš, where they performed in 2007 as the guests of the festival. This festival with international participation will soon celebrate its 15. anniversary. Members of the group DETO completed creative workshops with Slovak, Czech and also Polish lectors: they learned mime from Miroslav Kasprzyk (SR), Michal Hecht (CR) or Alžbeta Pastecka (PL), juggling from Karel Prais (CR), Pavol Blaho (SR) and completed many more workshops.

With every performance they try to doubt the opinion that mime is only serious and incomprehensible. DETO brings on the scene its own view on our everyday reality, to show you that every situation can be taken with humor. In short etudes, in which parody becomes comedy, you will see the common things as you have never seen, possible becomes impossible and vice versa. They named their show Cvokhaus (the house of the crazy) because in this unique surroundings there are no rules as in the modern society, you can't be sure even about physical laws. Everyone has their own world here, in which we see what we want to see. What can be shown by motions and how much can be said without words will you see when you come in.
